Supply Run - 16 August 2009

In preparation for a working-bee in a week's time, Kath & I drove down to the farm for a supply run. There just wouldn't be enough room in the ute for all the building materials and all the stuff we needed for a couple of days at the farm we had planned for later in the month. On the working-bee agenda was building the shed and some fencing work if there's time.

Here's the ute packed full of gear - ladder and guttering for the shed along with water and all the tools which can be left behind.


The above photo was taken just before I drove forward and bent the guttering on an overhanging branch on the tree. Thankfully, it was only a bit warped and will be fine to use.

Here are the star pickets for the fence. There's 70 there and they are a lot heavier than they look!

Kath took some time to cut the grass around the camp site. Her fear of snakes knows no bounds. Fonzi keeps out of the way or he'll get a haircut!

It's amazing how fast time flies. We took a quick drive around the property to have a look around. We couldn't find the stray sheep - don't know where they have gone! On our drive, we spotted an echinda wandering along a fence line. It was quite a large specimen and looked really healthy. To give some perspective, the gaps between the vertical wire are 30cm apart. This guy was about 40cm long!
We have taken a few days off work and have planned to spend a couple of days at the farm on 24, 25 and 26 August. The forecast for the weather isn't looking great, but lots can change in a week or two. Stay tuned!
